65 years of Vietnam-Cuba relations: Living proof of "Brotherhood"

On November 18, the online newspaper of Cuba's Latin American News Agency (Prensa Latina) officially launched the column "Cuba-Vietnam: 65 years of brotherhood", on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Cuba-Vietnam diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025).

The column publishes articles and photos about high-level bilateral visits by leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam and Cuba, along with people-to-people exchange activities that highlight the loyal and steadfast relationship between the two brotherly peoples of Cuba and Vietnam.

Speaking to a Vietnam News Agency reporter in Havana, President of Prensa Latina, Jorge Legañoa Alonso, emphasized that "Brotherhood", a news item celebrating 65 years of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Vietnam, is a vivid demonstration of the close relationship between the people of the two countries.

Mr. Jorge Legañoa Alonso emphasized the significance of the opening of the column to affirm the role of Prensa Latina in the media field, contributing to strengthening and fostering the special solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Cuba and Vietnam.

According to the President of Prensa Latina, the "Brotherhood" column is one of the ways to express through the media the achievements of cooperation between two countries when sharing the same political will, despite geographical distance and language differences.

In the column, readers can find news and images recording the political, diplomatic, cultural, journalistic, economic and social agenda between the two brotherly countries.

Among the highlights is the solidarity movement of the Vietnamese people with the Cuban people in the face of current difficulties.

On this occasion, Mr. Jorge Legañoa Alonso also affirmed Prensa Latina's strong commitment to further promoting professional and technical cooperation with Vietnam News Agency, in order to increase the dissemination of information and images about the land and people of Cuba and Vietnam.

The year 2025 has been named the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year to celebrate 65 years of special relations between the two brotherly nations, half a world apart. Many delegation exchanges at all levels and cultural exchanges have been and are being held in each country to celebrate the milestone in bilateral relations./.
