75 years of Vietnam - Hungary relations: Journey of solidarity, trust, and sustainable cooperation

According to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Bui Le Thai emphasized: 75 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary is a journey nurtured by solidarity, trust and sustainable cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador expressed his deep gratitude for the valuable assistance that the Government and people of Hungary have given to Vietnam during the years of fighting for independence and national reunification as well as in the cause of Renovation and development today.

The Ambassador affirmed that despite the great geographical distance and the changes that have been and are taking place in the world , the Party, Government and people of Vietnam always attach importance to and wish to further develop the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

Ambassador Bui Le Thai also affirmed: With 75 years of friendship and cooperation, a solid foundation of relations, a high level of political trust between the leaders of the two countries; empathy, deep understanding between the two peoples and the sharing of common values including the aspiration for peace, progress and prosperity; the consensus and determination of both sides, Vietnam and Hungary will continue to write new pages in the history of traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

On behalf of the Hungarian Government and Parliament, Ms. Márta Mátrai, First Vice President of the Hungarian Parliament, conveyed warm congratulations from Mr. László Kövér, President of the Hungarian Parliament, and the entire Hungarian Parliament and Government to the people of Vietnam on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary.

Ms. Márta Mátrai congratulated Vietnam on its achievements since the country's reunification in 1975, and expressed pride in Hungary's contribution to Vietnam's struggle for national liberation and reunification, especially through its participation in the International Commission for Supervision and Control of the Vietnam Armistice (ICCS) during the 1973-1975 period.

Ms. Márta Mátrai highly appreciated the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, especially the cooperation between the two National Assemblies - one of the solid pillars of bilateral cooperation - through visits by leaders of the National Assembly, National Assembly Committees and the organization of seminars to share legislative experiences.

Appreciating the role of the Vietnamese community in Hungary in contributing to the development and prosperity of the country, Ms. Márta Mátrai affirmed that the Hungarian Government and Parliament always create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate well into the host society.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Bui Le Thai presented the special magazine published by the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary in collaboration with Eurasia Magazine to the honored guests on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Delegates also enjoyed special performances and traditional Vietnamese dishes, as well as visited a photo exhibition and watched a documentary film recreating the 75-year journey of Vietnam-Hungary friendship and 50 years of building and developing Vietnam.
