AFC praises U23 Vietnam for record achievement

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) posted an article congratulating Vietnam on its three consecutive U23 Southeast Asian championships.

On the evening of July 29, U23 Vietnam defeated U23 Indonesia in the final match of U23 Southeast Asia 2025. This result helped coach Kim Sang Sik's team win the regional championship for the third consecutive time.

This proud achievement of U23 Vietnam has been praised by the Asian Football Confederation's homepage. AFC published an article with the title: "U23 Vietnam defeated U23 Indonesia, successfully defended the championship".

In the article, AFC emphasized the decisive moment of the match came in the 37th minute, when Cong Phuong fired a decisive shot to break the deadlock. At the same time, it also acknowledged the strength of U23 Vietnam when they won the tournament for the third consecutive time.

With 3 championships, U23 Vietnam is far ahead of its pursuers Thailand and Indonesia, each team has only won the championship once.

Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team were crowned champions with a perfect record of victories. This achievement also extended the unbeaten streak of U23 Vietnam at the Southeast Asian U23 Championships to 13 matches since 2019.
