AirPods are about to become powerful 'language assistants'
The new feature allows AirPods users to receive live translations of foreign languages through the earbuds. When the person responds, their language is translated and played back through the paired iPhone's speaker, allowing for a smooth conversation.
This feature is considered a big step forward for Apple, as competitors like Google (Pixel Buds Pro 2) and Samsung (Galaxy Buds3 Pro) have had similar translation modes for a while.
It’s unclear at this point which AirPods models will receive the update. Apple is also working on a third-generation AirPods Pro and another model with a built-in camera and Apple Intelligence, which can analyze the user’s surroundings.
With live translation and many other improvements, iOS 19 promises to be a worthwhile update for iPhone and AirPods users.
