Carlos Alcaraz booked his place in the final of the Nitto ATP Finals for the first time in his career, after defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-2, 6-4 in the early morning of November 16 in Turin (Italy). This victory sent the Spaniard to a dramatic final match against big rival Jannik Sinner, who had previously defeated Alex de Minaur 7-5, 6-2 in the first semi-final.
After being named the number one player of the year, Alcaraz celebrated with an impressive performance against Auger-Aliassime. The 22-year-old put in a stellar performance in front of a packed Inalpi Arena, creating many memorable moments and closing out the match after 1 hour and 23 minutes.

“I felt like I could do everything on the court,” Alcaraz said of his first-set performance. “Whether I was hitting a forehand down the line, a drop shot or a backhand down the line, I felt like I was going to be okay. I think that confidence helped me throughout the match, pushing me to the limit and doing something different. I’m just happy that I continued to play at such a great level.”
This is Alcaraz's 11th final this year, making him the first Spaniard to reach the final of the year-end event since Rafael Nadal in 2013. Alcaraz is bidding to become the first Spaniard to lift the trophy since Alex Corretja in 1998.
The ATP Finals will be a rematch between Alcaraz and Sinner, a fitting end to an exciting 2025 ATP Tour season. The world No. 1 and No. 2 have dominated the season, sharing four major titles and owning 13 titles between them, including four ATP Masters 1000 titles.
Alcaraz leads Sinner 4-1 this season (10-5 overall), but beating the Italian on home soil will not be easy. Sinner is riding a 30-match winning streak in indoor tournaments and has a huge crowd. The final will be played at midnight on November 17, with both players coming into the decider unbeaten this week.

“It’s great to play against Jannik. If it was someone else, I wouldn’t mind, but this match is special. Thanks to him, I will try to approach the match differently, be more focused and execute plan A if I want to beat him, if I want to win the tournament. I think we will both improve, which is good for the fans,” Alcaraz said, looking forward to the final.
Against Auger-Aliassime, Alcaraz converted the first break point with a powerful cross-court backhand. The world No. 1 then hit a tricky drop shot that forced his opponent to rush to the net. Although the Canadian still saved the ball and counterattacked down the line, Alcaraz stretched out to volley into the open space to make it 3-1.
Alcaraz has only dropped one set on his way to the semi-finals. He dominated the opening set, taking 13 match points and making just two unforced errors. Alcaraz struggled in the second set, but found a turning point in the 10th game when Auger-Aliassime made four consecutive errors. The Spaniard now leads his opponent 5-3 in the head-to-head.
Auger-Aliassime finished the season ranked No. 5 in the ATP rankings, having dropped to No. 27 in August. In an impressive final three months of the season, the 25-year-old won the Brussels title, reached the Paris Masters final and reached the US Open semi-finals.
