An Giang develops OCOP products on digital platforms

On the afternoon of September 26, the Department of Industry and Trade of An Giang province coordinated with relevant units to organize a workshop on "Developing OCOP products on digital platforms", with the participation of departments, branches, sectors, and OCOP enterprises inside and outside the province. Based on the coordination with GTEL Company, An Giang province gradually builds a digital ecosystem in agriculture and e-commerce, consumes specialty agricultural products, OCOP products and promotes the exploitation of rich tourism potential.

Currently, the province has nearly 400 OCOP products with accounts, helping businesses proactively post product information and images on e-commerce platforms to widely promote to customers and partners at home and abroad.

At the workshop, An Giang province officially announced the implementation of Model 22 on "Tourism development, associated with regional specialties, supporting people in applying population data, electronic identification and authentication in developing household economy and digital economy" throughout the province.

In Model 22, GTEL has developed the VNeTrip App on two platforms, Android and IOS, to digitize nearly 300 unique cultural and spiritual landscapes of the province, such as: Cam Mountain, Ba Chua Xu Temple of Sam Mountain, Phu Quoc Special Zone, Kien Hai, Ha Tien... to help tourists easily access information, browse and book tourism services; buy specialty goods online, pay online; trace the origin of goods and OCOP products by QR/Barcode...

In particular, the workshop also included a discussion between leaders of An Giang province's departments and branches and businesses on the content of "Digitizing trade processes and improving economic digital capacity for SMEs and startups".

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc emphasized that An Giang's official announcement of the implementation of Model 22 is a strong commitment to digitizing OCOP products, specialty products and tourism services, connecting An Giang with the whole country and the world. This is also an important turning point, helping to realize the goal of sustainable development, connecting the three pillars of agriculture - industry - trade - tourism of the province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to continue to coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Tourism, the Department of Agriculture and Environment and GTEL Company to speed up the implementation of Model 22 throughout the province. Complete mechanisms and policies to support and encourage enterprises, cooperatives, and OCOP product owners to participate in e-commerce.

In addition, it is necessary to develop digital infrastructure, invest heavily in telecommunications, rural internet, digital payment systems, and smart logistics. Improve digital capacity through organizing training courses, online sales skills training, digital marketing, and customer data management. Build brands and trace the origin of each OCOP product regarding brand stories and transparent QR codes.
