57 years ago in Italy, a book was published about President Ho Chi Minh and the two great resistance wars of the Vietnamese people. The book, titled “Ho Ci Min - Un uomo e un popolo”, was published by Vie Nuove Magazine, the mouthpiece of the Italian Communist Party.
On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, on May 16, the Vietnamese version of the book was introduced to Vietnamese readers with the title "Ho Chi Minh - A man and a nation."
The book, which brings together 12 topics arranged in historical order, is told by journalists Paolo Bracaglia Morante and Camillo Pisani, combined with vivid illustrations by artist Pino Dangelico and many valuable documentary photos, and was published in 1968 by the magazine Vie Nuove (New Roads).

It can be seen that since the 60s of the last century, the image and ideology of Ho Chi Minh have gone beyond the borders of Vietnam and become a source of inspiration for many countries and peoples in the world .
The work is a vivid testament to the strong support and sincere affection of international friends, especially the Italian people, for President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people.
In 2020, this special publication was presented to the Ho Chi Minh Museum by the Veneto Region Italy-Vietnam Friendship Association and then introduced to Kim Dong Publishing House by the Vietnam-Italy Friendship Association.
The Vietnamese edition was translated by translator Bui Thi Thai Duong with editing support from the Ho Chi Minh Museum and Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Quang Hai, Institute of History, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences .
Ms. Vu Thi Quynh Lien, Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of Kim Dong Publishing House, hopes that through this book, young readers will have more inspiration to continue to learn and preserve the heritage of President Ho Chi Minh, nurture love for the homeland, the will to study, the spirit of dedication and the desire to build, contributing to bringing the country firmly into a new era, the era of national growth.

At the book launch on May 16, Dr. Chu Duc Tinh, former Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, emphasized that the authors of the book have demonstrated a deep understanding of the history of Vietnam and especially of Uncle Ho - our beloved leader. The book contains valuable documents about the two resistance wars of the Vietnamese people, and more specifically, the comic strips depicting the life of President Ho Chi Minh closely linked to the history of the nation.
He especially liked the way the book was written, which was concise, succinct, and a bit humorous, making it very appealing to readers.
Accordingly, the work leads readers to learn about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, from when the boy Nguyen Sinh Cung witnessed the brutality of the feudal regime to when he became Nguyen Ai Quoc and later Ho Chi Minh, the person who led the revolutionary movement of the Vietnamese people to glorious victory./.
