According to a VNA reporter in Tokyo, on May 23, at the Vietnam Exhibition Hall at the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, the opening ceremony of the exhibition "President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of Peace and Friendship" took place.
This is the first time an exhibition about Uncle Ho has been held at a World Exhibition.
The exhibition “President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of Peace and Friendship” was organized by the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace in coordination with the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and the 52nd anniversary of the official establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations.
Attending the event on the Vietnamese side were Mr. Ngo Trinh Ha, Consul General of Vietnam in Osaka; Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Deputy General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO 2025; Ms. Le Thi Phuong, Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace.
On the Japanese side, there were Mr. Oono Masafumi, Director in charge of exchange promotion, Economic Strategy Department, Osaka City Government; Mr. Koga Koichi, Secretary General of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region.
In addition, there were also representatives of leaders of some Exhibitors at EXPO 2025, the Vietnamese community in Osaka and international friends.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang said that this is the first time an exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh has been held at a World Expo. The Deputy General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO 2025 emphasized: “President Ho Chi Minh’s entire life is a living testament to his dedication to work and his aspiration to contribute to the country and to humanity for a better world - values that are completely in tune with the theme and spirit of EXPO 2025.”
Ms. Le Thi Phuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh President Relic Site, said: “President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of Peace and Friendship” introduces to visitors to EXPO 2025 valuable documents and images, truly and vividly reflecting the life, career, thoughts and feelings of President Ho Chi Minh - a great leader but extremely close and simple. Through that, Japanese and international people can feel more deeply about his personality, thoughts and feelings towards the people of the world in general and Japan in particular.”
The exhibition “President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of Peace and Friendship” takes place from May 23-25 at the Vietnam Exhibition House at EXPO 2025.
Visitors will have the opportunity to watch valuable diplomatic films of the Ho Chi Minh era, through documents and images, learn about the 30-year journey of Nguyen Tat Thanh - Nguyen Ai Quoc to find a way to save the country; introduce President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader of the Vietnamese people, the builder of international solidarity; Uncle Ho's legacies at the Presidential Palace - a "destination" in diplomatic relations, where the sentiments of the people and international friends converge.
After EXPO 2025, the exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh will continue to take place in Fukuoka city, Japan from May 28-29.
The Vietnam Exhibition House at EXPO 2025, organized and operated by the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is currently one of the favorite destinations at EXPO 2025, welcoming from 7,000 to more than 9,000 visitors per day.
In May and June, the Exhibition House coordinated with ministries, branches and localities to organize many activities to introduce and promote Vietnam such as Vietnam National Brand Week (from May 26 to June 1); Quang Ninh Week at EXPO 2025 (from June 3 to 6); Quang Nam and Da Nang tourism promotion program (from June 9 to 11); Binh Phuoc Week at EXPO 2025 (from June 13 to 16) …/.
