Bac Giang: Updating knowledge on environmental protection and climate change response

Attending the event were Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Chien, Director of the Institute of Leadership and Public Policy, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; representatives of the Provincial Political School.

The class was attended by 82 civil servants performing state management tasks on the environment at the provincial, district and grassroots levels.

During 2.5 days, students will study 5 topics directly taught by lecturers of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

5 topics include: Party guidelines, State policies and laws on environmental protection, climate change response; impacts of climate change in the world and Vietnam and climate change management skills; climate change and improving skills in implementing climate change response policies; the role of leaders and managers in responding to climate change and skills in planning to respond to climate change; developing a circular economy in the new era.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Chien gave a speech to direct the class.

In his speech at the class, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Chien emphasized: Environmental pollution and climate change are among the biggest challenges facing humanity. Over the years, our Party and State have had policies and guidelines on environmental protection and climate change response, in parallel with socio-economic development.

Raising awareness and sense of responsibility for environmental protection for people, businesses, and officials, civil servants, and public employees in the system of state agencies plays a very important role in this work.

Through the course, the students are expected to raise their awareness of the Party's policies and the State's laws and policies on environmental protection and climate change response; update knowledge, share information on the current state of environmental protection, and create a forum for lecturers and officials working in environmental management to meet and exchange experiences to resolve difficulties and obstacles in this work.
