Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized: In the exciting atmosphere of welcoming the National Digital Transformation Day, the program is organized to spread the spirit of "Every citizen is a digital citizen - Every enterprise is a digital enterprise", while encouraging people and enterprises to actively apply digital technology in shopping and payment, towards forming modern, convenient and safe consumption habits.
According to the Vietnam E-commerce Association, in 2024, the country's e-commerce revenue is estimated to reach more than 25 billion USD, an increase of about 20% compared to 2023; the scale of online retail sales of goods will reach 32 billion USD. At the same time, non-cash payments will explode strongly, with more than 17.7 billion transactions in 2024, with a total value exceeding 295 million billion VND; 30 million e-wallets in regular operation; 35 million activated eKYC accounts; QR code transactions will increase by 104% in quantity and 97% in value.

In Bac Ninh , after the merger, the province has a population of about 3.6 million people, being one of the major production and consumption centers of the country. Currently, about 55 - 60% of people participate in online shopping, approaching and exceeding the national target; the rate of non-cash payments reaches about 50%, mainly through e-wallets, payment gateways and QR codes.
The Department of Industry and Trade has implemented many activities to support businesses in building and operating e-commerce websites, bringing products to major trading floors, and coordinating with banks to deploy cashless payment models at markets, supermarkets, and shopping centers. Up to now, 100% of electricity, water, telecommunications and media service providers in the province have applied electronic payment methods; the majority of small traders and fixed business households use QR code scanning, POS, and Mobile Banking in daily transactions.
The program is a practical activity in response to National Digital Transformation Day on October 10, while contributing to promoting the formation of a digital ecosystem in the field of commerce, connecting businesses - banks - financial institutions - e-commerce platforms - logistics units.
