Bac Quang on the journey of standardizing education

BHG - In the strategy of sustainableeducation development, building national standard schools is an important measure. Therefore, the Party Committee and the government of Bac Quang district have resolutely implemented the work of building, maintaining and improving the quality of national standard schools, aiming at standardizing and modernizing education.

Dong Tam Kindergarten was established in 2010 and re-established in 2018 on the basis of merging Dong Tam Kindergarten and Hoa Hong Kindergarten. With outstanding efforts in operation, in 2023, the school was honored to be recognized as having achieved level 2 educational quality accreditation and level 1 national standards. Currently, the school has 7 campuses, 18 classes with more than 400 children.

With the consistent viewpoint of "Building a child-centered kindergarten", the school has focused on designing a friendly and safe learning environment, promoting children's positivity and initiative in all activities. 100% of children attending school are monitored by growth charts and have regular health check-ups according to regulations. Every year, the percentage of children with normal height and weight development is over 95%. The percentage of children attending school regularly is over 95% for 5-year-old children and 90% or more for children under 5 years old. In particular, the percentage of 5-year-old children completing the preschool education program is always 100%, becoming a vivid proof of the results of dedication and creativity from the staff, teachers and effective coordination between school - family - society.

Achieving national standards is an important foundation for Dong Tam Kindergarten to improve the quality of education.

The year 2025 marks a new milestone in the journey of construction and development of Vinh Tuy Secondary School when the school is eligible to be recognized as a national standard school level 1 and achieves level 2 education quality accreditation. This is not only a recognition of the school's persistent efforts but also the result of the process of innovation in thinking and improving the quality of comprehensive education in the new era. Notably, in the past 5 years, the school has not had any students who violated discipline and were forced to leave school; the percentage of students with good and fair conduct accounts for over 90%.

In particular, the school has promoted the application of information technology in management and teaching; innovated teaching methods towards developing students' qualities and abilities. Thanks to that, the rate of grade 9 students participating in career guidance courses reached 100%, the vocational graduation rate and junior high school graduation rate both reached 100%, the rate of students with good and excellent academic performance accounted for nearly 48%. From 2021 to present, the school has had 63 students achieving the title of excellent students at the district and provincial levels in many subjects. Among them, many students won high prizes in competitions to select excellent students.

Currently, Bac Quang district has 70 educational institutions under the district People's Committee, including: 25 kindergartens, 21 primary schools, 1 primary boarding school for ethnic minorities, 15 secondary schools, 9 primary and secondary schools, 108 school locations with a total of 1,042 classes/28,425 students. The whole sector has 2,040 civil servants in education and training. In terms of training level, the standard rate at all levels accounts for 83.09% - 93.77%; above standard accounts for 1.2% - 16.47%, below standard accounts for only 0.43% - 7.18%. Notably, the rate of civil servants who are party members accounts for 93.34%.

Based on reviewing the current situation of the school network, facilities, staff, education quality, etc., the Party Committee and the Bac Quang district government promptly issued a plan to build, maintain and improve the quality of implementing national standard schools in each specific stage, suitable to the conditions of each locality and school level. In particular, attention is paid to removing difficulties, especially in terms of investment resources for facilities and teaching equipment; mobilizing the participation of the whole society, promoting the role of parents and the community in building a quality and sustainable educational environment. From 2021 to present, the whole district has mobilized more than 156 billion VND to invest in building school facilities, classrooms and purchasing teaching equipment, of which nearly 55 billion VND comes from socialized education sources.

Also during the above period, the whole district had 33 schools recognized for quality inspection and meeting national standards (15 newly recognized schools, 18 re-recognized schools). Up to now, the whole district has 42/70 schools meeting national standards, including: 14 kindergartens, 16 primary schools, 12 secondary schools, reaching a rate of 60%. Each school meeting the standards becomes a clear demonstration of a comprehensive change in the pedagogical environment, from facilities, teaching staff to teaching and learning quality. This achievement has opened up opportunities for students to access a modern, equal, and humane education.
