Journalist Ruben Darío said that when talking about Vietnam, many people immediately think of courage, perseverance, solidarity, dignity, revolutionary spirit, socialism and the Communist Party.
Mr. Ruben Darío commented that April 30, 1975 has a very special meaning for humanity, because it was the culmination of more than a century of struggle of the Vietnamese people against colonialism, neo-colonialism and imperialism, to gain national independence and liberate the country.
The Argentine journalist emphasized that the international solidarity of the people and working class of the world was an invaluable contribution to the Vietnamese revolution. A revolutionary movement, opposing the war, expressing solidarity with the long resistance of the Vietnamese people in the South American region emerged in the 1960s and 1970s. Hundreds of thousands of revolutionaries and peace-loving people formed many associations and groups to participate in solidarity activities with the Vietnamese people. Many anti -war demonstrations and marches took place in the streets, from Rio Grande to Tierra del Fuego.
Journalist Ruben Darío emphasized that April 30, 1975 will forever be a great day in the history of international politics and peoples around the world will celebrate that day with revolutionary enthusiasm.
