At the same time, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company Limited - SJC at 115.5-117.5 million VND/tael (buy - sell), a decrease of 200 thousand VND in buying price - a decrease of 700 thousand VND in selling price compared to yesterday.

At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey was listed at 115.5-117 million VND/tael for buying and selling. Compared to yesterday, the gold price decreased by 200 thousand VND/tael for buying - unchanged for selling compared to yesterday.

Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,210 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 108.4 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 9.1 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Domestic gold prices and world gold prices today fluctuated in opposite directions, leading to a price gap of 9.1 million VND/tael, equivalent to nearly 7.7%.

Expert Tran Duy Phuong said that to reduce the gap between domestic and international gold prices to 1-2% as directed by the Prime Minister, it is necessary to increase the supply sharply. Otherwise, it will be difficult to achieve a domestic gold price below 100 million VND/tael in the short term.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, CEO of Finance - Banking at Nguyen Trai University, said that to bring domestic and world prices closer together, it is necessary to allow the expansion of gold import rights in a controlled manner. In addition, developing more domestic gold bar brands under close supervision, along with the establishment of a transparent electronic gold trading floor.
