Amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Prices

(GLO)- The Government has just issued Resolution No. 346/NQ-CP on the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Prices.

In this Resolution, the Government approves the content of the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Prices as proposed by the Ministry of Finance ; at the same time, it requires the Ministry of Finance to be responsible for the contents of the draft Law, the contents of the report on the acceptance and explanation of opinions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the agencies of the National Assembly and the opinions of Government members as prescribed.

The important amendments, additions, and repeals relate to decentralization and delegation of authority, and the revision of regulations on transferring responsibility for price stabilization implementation from district-level People's Committees to commune-level People's Committees, in order to align with the two-tiered local government model.

In addition, the draft Law amends and supplements the names and pricing authority for certain goods and services in the fields of natural gas, aviation, vehicle inspection, labor safety inspection, securities, national reserves, railways, and public products and services in healthcare, education and training.

Regarding inspection and auditing, the draft Law abolishes regulations on specialized inspections of prices, and refers to the implementation of price inspections and price appraisals according to the provisions of the law on inspection to align with the 2025 Inspection Law.

Regarding organizational restructuring, the draft Law amends and supplements the names of ministries and agencies associated with state management authority over prices to align with the names, functions, and tasks under the new organizational structure of the Government...

Furthermore, this draft law reduces unnecessary conditions and simplifies the requirements for granting business licenses for valuation services. Specifically, it abolishes the requirement that the authorized representative of a contributing organization must possess a certified valuation expert card.
