Phu Nghia Commune: 800 athletes compete in 8 events

Taking place at Phu Yen village stadium, the Congress is a great festival of the people of Phu Nghia commune, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho and the determination to build a cultural and healthy life in the community.

At the opening ceremony, delegates and people enjoyed a sports performance and vibrant art performances. Representatives of the referees and athletes took an oath and promised to compete honestly, nobly, and determinedly achieve high results.

Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of Phu Nghia Commune People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Sy affirmed that the 1st Phu Nghia Commune Sports Congress is an opportunity to honor the mass sports movement and select outstanding athletes to participate in the 11th Capital Sports Congress. The Congress contributes to spreading the spirit of "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people.

The competitions at this Congress include football, men's and women's volleyball, chess, shuttlecock kicking, tug of war and sack jumping. These are the favorite sports of the people in the commune. The organizing committee awarded 88 prizes, including 12 first prizes, 12 second prizes, 24 third prizes and 40 consolation prizes.

Through the Congress, Phu Nghia commune selected 20 athletes to compete in the 11th Capital Sports Congress, with 4 events: Shuttlecock, karate, vovinam and tug of war.

At the end of the Congress, the Organizing Committee awarded souvenir flags, flowers and commended collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing and competing, continuing to promote the movement of physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho, contributing to building Phu Nghia to develop comprehensively and sustainably.
