Vietnam Law Newspaper was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the People's Committee of Quang Nam province.

(PLVN) - On the afternoon of June 16, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, the leaders of Quang Nam province awarded Certificates of Merit to many groups and individuals with outstanding contributions to journalism activities.

The representative office of Vietnam Law Newspaper in Da Nang City is honored to be one of the units awarded this noble prize.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Dung, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the particularly important role of the press in the development process of the province, from the early years of re-establishment to today.

Mr. Dung said that the press has gone through many difficult and challenging periods with the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Nam. In particular, at the time of the province's re-establishment in 1997, the team of journalists contributed to stabilizing public opinion, arousing confidence, reflecting the aspirations of the people and accompanying the government in building and developing their homeland Quang Nam.

“The press is not only a witness to history, but also a driving force for strong local development,” affirmed the Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee.

Mr. Dung also expressed his deep gratitude to the team of reporters and journalists from central to local levels who have persistently stayed in remote areas and islands, especially during difficult times such as natural disasters and epidemics, to bring truthful and timely information, contributing to creating consensus in the whole society.

The touching story shared by Mr. Dung at the ceremony was about the times when the press was “ahead of the government” when natural disasters occurred. Like the terrible landslide in Tra Leng (Nam Tra My district) at the end of 2020 or the peak days of the fight against Covid-19, many journalists did not fear danger, crossed streams and forests, and infiltrated hot spots to convey information from the scene.

“When people in disaster areas were evacuated, the press rushed to the center. There were moments I could not forget, the image of the brothers and sisters holding cameras, their hands shaking, their feet covered in mud, their tears spilling over their rice, sharing packets of instant noodles in the storm, but still trying to record and write news. That is bravery, love for the profession, and the spirit of true revolutionary journalism,” Mr. Dung expressed.

Leaders of Quang Nam province were awarded the Medal "For the cause of Vietnamese journalism".

Also at the ceremony, the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association awarded the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism" Medal to three key leaders of Quang Nam province, including Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Le Van Dung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

On this occasion, 16 members of the Vietnam Journalists Association and 69 outstanding press groups and individuals in Quang Nam were also honored.

In particular, the Representative Office of Vietnam Law Newspaper in Da Nang City is one of the collectives awarded a Certificate of Merit by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province for its outstanding achievements in propaganda work, accurate news information, timely reflection of local issues and active contribution to the work of building the image of Quang Nam as friendly, innovative and sustainably developing.

Sharing about this award, the representative of the Vietnam Law Newspaper Office in Da Nang City expressed his honor to be recognized for his professional efforts in Quang Nam, a land rich in revolutionary traditions, where favorable conditions and openness to receiving press information are always created. This will be a motivation for the unit to continue to fulfill its mission as a journalist in the new period, contributing to spreading the legal voice, upholding the rule of law, and accompanying the development of the country and locality.
