Typhoon Phoenix causes strong winds and 5-10m high waves in the northern East Sea

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting at 10:00 a.m. on November 10, the center of storm Phuong Hoang was in the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea, the strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 13 (134-149 km/h), gusting to level 16.

The storm is currently moving west-northwest at a speed of about 15km/h.

Forecast in the next 24 hours, the storm will move northwest at a speed of 10-15km/h and its intensity is unlikely to change.

By 10am tomorrow morning, the storm center will be in the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea, with storm intensity at level 13, gusting to level 16.

In the next 24 - 48 hours, the storm will gradually change direction to the northeast, with the possibility of weakening.

At 10:00 a.m. on November 12, the storm center was in the northeastern sea area of the northern East Sea. The strongest wind near the storm center was at level 12 (117-133 km/h), gusting to level 16.

During the next 48-72 hours, the storm will move northeast at a speed of about 15-20km/h, make landfall in Taiwan and gradually weaken into a tropical depression.

At 10:00 a.m. on November 13, the center of the tropical depression was over the northeastern coastal area of Taiwan. The tropical depression then continued to move northeast and gradually weakened.

Due to the influence of the storm, in the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea today there will be strong winds of level 8-10, near the eye of the storm there will be strong winds of level 11-13, gusts of level 16, waves 5-8m high, near the eye of the storm 8-10m.

The meteorological agency issued a level 3 disaster risk warning (high risk) for vessels operating in the eastern waters of the northern East Sea.

To proactively respond to storm Phuong Hoang, on the morning of November 10, the National Civil Defense Steering Committee issued a telegram requesting ministries, departments, branches and coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Dak Lak to closely monitor the storm's developments.

Organize counting and notify owners of vehicles and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.

At the same time, ready rescue forces and vehicles when requested.
