However, only over 50% of the stilt houses meet quality requirements, the remaining stilt houses have deteriorated.

The Standing Committee of Quan Hoa District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 12 dated May 12, 2018 on "Preserving and promoting traditional stilt houses and stilt house culture of Thai and Muong people in Quan Hoa district". The goal of the resolution is to raise awareness of people in preserving and promoting traditional national culture; to appreciate, preserve and promote traditional stilt houses and stilt house culture of their people. Preserving and restoring ancient stilt houses and long-standing stilt houses remaining in the district, at the same time building mechanisms and policies to preserve and promote traditional stilt houses. Preserving and promoting traditional stilt houses and stilt house culture associated with new rural construction, with the development of eco-tourism, community tourism, contributing to socio -economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

To put the resolution into practice, Quan Hoa district has planned villages and hamlets in the direction of arranging residents with green, clean and beautiful landscapes. Inventory, document and materialize the stilt house system of the Thai and Muong people to identify and determine the existence, value and vitality of the stilt house in the community. On that basis, propose conservation and effective promotion plans; promote propaganda and mobilize people to participate in protecting the cultural heritage of stilt houses, associated with activities to build cultural life, focusing on the principle of "living preservation", that is, preserving stilt houses right in the community life. Develop mechanisms and policies in the direction of both preserving and developing stilt houses and stilt house culture, without depleting forest resources, in line with building a new cultural lifestyle and new people; encourage the development of stilt house building by local artisans...

In 2019, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province approved the Project "Developing community tourism in Quan Hoa district until 2025, with a vision to 2030". At the same time, it divided the space for developing community tourism, associated with 2 Nature Reserves Pu Luong, Pu Hu and Nam Dong Rare Gymnosperm Conservation Area. Currently, the district focuses on developing community tourism in 8 villages where the majority of Thai ethnic people live and have formed community tourism spots, such as: Hang village (Phu Le); But village (Nam Xuan); Vinh Quang village (Phu Nghiem); Ngheo village (Quan Hoa town), with a scale of 40 accommodation establishments, including 20 homestays, with a capacity of over 600 guests.

The preservation of traditional stilt houses associated with tourism development in Quan Hoa has contributed to preserving the heritage and fine traditional cultural values ​​of the nation, creating conditions for the development of unique tourism products with the characteristics of the district.
