Accordingly, on May 11, a 3-minute video appeared on Youtube with the title "Arrest of Director of Vinh Long Television Station Le Quang Nguyen".
Vinh Long Provincial Police affirmed that the content in the above video is completely fake, baseless and untrue; it was fabricated to slander, fabricate stories, affecting the reputation and honor of the leaders of Vinh Long Television Station and Mr. Le Quang Nguyen personally.
At noon on May 15, when meeting with Vinh Long Provincial Police, Mr. Le Quang Nguyen appeared quite surprised by the fabricated and slanderous information that affected his personal reputation and honor.
He hopes that the authorities will soon clarify the incident and widely inform people so that they understand the issue correctly.
The Director of Vinh Long Provincial Police has directed functional units to urgently verify and clarify the owner of the Youtube channel and the person who posted the content of the above video and handle it according to legal regulations, and at the same time force the video to be removed.
“Police units and localities should strengthen propaganda work among all classes of people so that people know and understand that the above information is completely fake, untrue, and has bad intentions. And, any act of providing, sharing fake information, untrue information, distorting, slandering, or insulting the reputation of agencies, organizations, or the honor and dignity of individuals is a violation of the law and will be strictly handled according to regulations,” Vinh Long Provincial Police recommended.
Mr. Le Quang Nguyen previously held the position of Director of Vinh Long Television Station. In 2019, Mr. Nguyen retired; the current Director of Vinh Long Television Station is Mr. Le Thanh Tuan.
