Attending the ceremony were Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao, Deputy Secretary and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City; leaders of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, departments and agencies, representatives of AACI, and leaders of Nam Can Tho University Hospital.
After undergoing a rigorous evaluation and assessment process, Nam Can Tho University Hospital was officially recognized as meeting the US AACI accreditation standards on November 9, 2025, with a score of 92.16%. This is the first medical facility in the Mekong Delta region to achieve international accreditation according to the US AACI standards.
AACI certification in the United States is one of the world's leading and most prestigious accreditation systems, with extremely stringent requirements regarding patient safety, professional competence, quality management processes for healthcare services, facilities, equipment, and especially a patient-centered culture.

Operating since June 2022, after more than three years, Nam Can Tho University Hospital now has a capacity of 300 beds, 16 departments, 13 functional rooms, and separate specialized centers. The hospital meets the increasingly high demands for general medical examination and treatment from the people, with significant investment in many key specialized departments.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, said: The fact that Nam Can Tho University Hospital is the first in the Mekong Delta to receive AACI certification from the United States not only helps to enhance the hospital's prestige, position, and international cooperation capabilities, but also contributes to further affirming Can Tho City's leading role in healthcare in the region. This opens up many opportunities for cooperation and development in the city's healthcare sector, making a significant contribution to the goal of building Can Tho City into a specialized medical center of the region.
