Quang Tri Eye Hospital's High-Tech Building has a scale of 4 floors, including a new surgical area with 3 modern operating rooms, which can deploy new and specialized technical services in ophthalmology such as posterior segment surgery. Currently, this building has put into use modern medical equipment such as: phaco surgery machine for cataract treatment with vitrectomy function to perform posterior segment surgery; modern surgical light system and patient monitoring machine to ensure safety during surgery; photocoagulation laser system, treatment of retinal vascular diseases; lens power measurement system and anterior segment CT scan to help achieve the best results in cataract surgery. Thereby, patients with complex eye diseases can enjoy modern medical services, specialized ophthalmology techniques right at the provincial level, thereby reducing costs and travel effort during the treatment process.

Along with the operation of the High-Tech building, the hospital also renovated and rearranged the departments and functional rooms. Thanks to that, the hospital's examination area was expanded; the Refractive Examination Room, Technical Room... were separated for more convenience and professionalism. At the same time, the inpatient treatment area also had more space to arrange more spacious patient rooms, helping to reduce the overload situation whenever the number of patients suddenly increased as before.

Quang Tri Eye Hospital, formerly known as Quang Tri Eye Center, was separated from the Center for Social Disease Prevention. On August 26, 2019, Quang Tri Eye Hospital was established on the basis of upgrading Quang Tri Eye Center according to the decision of the Provincial People's Committee.

The establishment of the Eye Hospital marks a step forward in the development of the province's ophthalmology sector in particular and the Quang Tri health sector in general, contributing significantly to the care and protection of the health of local people. To become a leading specialized hospital in the province, overcoming difficulties and challenges in the early days of establishment in terms of facilities and human resources, the team of cadres, doctors and staff of the hospital have worked together to strive, constantly studying and improving their professional qualifications and skills.

The hospital has promoted research and applied new scientific and technical advances in medical examination and treatment. According to Director of Quang Tri Eye Hospital Bui Thi Van Anh, along with socio-economic development, the change in the current disease structure poses many challenges for the hospital. That is, it is necessary to expand the scale of medical examination and treatment, invest in facilities, modern ophthalmic equipment to replace outdated equipment, meet the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment in both quantity and quality of local people.

Fortunately, this issue was strongly supported by the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Health. Therefore, the High-Tech building at the hospital was quickly established. "This is not only a new building to replace the old infrastructure, but also a condition for the hospital's medical team to develop specialized treatment techniques, apply scientific and technological advances in ophthalmology, and meet the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of the people", Dr. Van Anh affirmed.
