'Strange Pi' coin plummets below $0.0003, question mark for Pi Network causes stir

Over the past week, the cryptocurrency market has been buzzing with Pi Network opening part of its Mainnet on February 20, marking a transition from a closed network to an open network, connecting to external blockchains.

Pham Thoai is not the only person in the TikToker, Youtuber, Facebooker world who takes advantage of his fame to develop his business. Many other names also own their own businesses or are deeply involved in the field of livestream sales.

Exemption from registration fee for battery-powered electric cars for 2 more years

According to a new government decree, battery-powered electric cars will be exempt from registration fees for an additional two years, instead of the incentive expiring at the end of February this year.

Specifically, according to Decree 51, from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2027, the registration fee for battery-powered electric cars is 0%. According to Decree 10/2022/ND-CP, the preferential registration fee for the first registration of battery-powered electric cars is 0% for 3 years, applied from March 1, 2022 to February 28, 2025.

Thus, according to Decree 51, battery-powered electric cars will be exempt from registration fees for an additional 2 years.

Individuals with tax debts of 50 million VND or more and 120 days overdue will have their exit suspended.

Decree 49 provides for the application of tax debt thresholds and debt periods in cases of temporary exit suspension; on notification of the application of temporary exit suspension measures and cancellation of temporary exit suspension.

Accordingly, business individuals and business household owners who are subject to compulsory enforcement of administrative decisions on tax management and have tax debts of VND 50 million or more and the tax debts are overdue for payment by more than 120 days will have their exit from the country temporarily suspended.

Prime Minister requests inspection of banks increasing deposit interest rates

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed an official dispatch to the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on strengthening the implementation of solutions to reduce interest rates.

The Prime Minister requested to immediately inspect and examine commercial banks that adjust their deposit interest rates upward and the announcement and implementation of deposit and lending interest rates by credit institutions.

The State Bank will conduct inspections of commercial banks that have increased deposit interest rates recently; at the same time, it will strengthen inspection, examination and close supervision of the operations of credit institutions.

State-owned enterprises want more autonomy and new development space

At the Government Standing Committee meeting working with State-owned enterprises (SOEs) on the morning of February 27, leaders of SOEs proposed many solutions and indicators to closely follow the 8% growth target by 2025 set by the Government, and at the same time proposed to create new space and increase autonomy in business operations.

The Prime Minister requested that state-owned enterprises take the lead in growth breakthroughs, make practical and effective contributions to growth, and requested the Ministry of Finance to complete the assignment of growth targets to enterprises before March 15.

Consumer harassment fined 70 million VND

The Government has just issued Decree No. 24/2025 amending and supplementing many regulations on administrative sanctions for violations of consumer rights protection. Decree No. 24 increases the level of penalties for administrative violations of consumer rights protection.

The new decree stipulates a fine of double the above fine in cases where the relevant information is sensitive personal data of consumers. The fine is quadrupled in cases where the violation is committed by an organization that establishes and operates a large digital platform.

Notably, acts of harassing consumers through direct or indirect contact against the consumer's will to introduce products, goods, services, business organizations or individuals or to propose to enter into contracts will be fined from 50 to 70 million VND.
