Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An received and worked with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam.

On the morning of October 11, Comrade Duong Van An, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation received and worked with Mr. Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam.

This is an important activity to concretize the friendly cooperation activities between Vinh Phuc province and Mayabeque province, Cuba through the recent State visit of General Secretary andPresident To Lam to the Republic of Cuba.

Also attending the meeting were comrade Bui Huy Vinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An expressed his joy when the Ambassador and members of the Embassy visited and worked in Vinh Phuc.

Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An recalled the good impressions of the country and people of Cuba when accompanying General Secretary and President To Lam on a recent State visit to the Republic of Cuba and felt the deep affection and closeness between the two Parties and peoples.

The Provincial Party Secretary shared the current difficulties of Cuba in the context of siege and embargo, affecting the development process and believed that the decisions of the Communist Party of Cuba will help the country overcome difficulties and challenges to develop more strongly in the coming time.

With the cooperation agreement signed with Mayabeque province, Vinh Phuc will continue to carry out specific activities to strengthen the friendly relationship and cooperation for mutual development between the two provinces.

Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An introduced to the Ambassador some general features of the economic and social development situation of Vinh Phuc, the province's strengths and hoped that the Ambassador would continue to be a bridge to promote and strengthen friendly cooperation activities between Vinh Phuc province and Mayabeque province in the areas where the two sides have signed agreements.

On this occasion, through the Ambassador, Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An sent an invitation to the leaders of Mayabeque province, Cuba to visit Vietnam and Vinh Phuc province to have the opportunity to exchange and discuss the implementation of more specific cooperation activities.

Informing that this was his first visit to Vinh Phuc province, Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén expressed his excitement at the development of Vinh Phuc; at the same time, he appreciated the sentiments, solidarity and close relationship between the two Parties and peoples over more than 6 decades of deep affection.

The Ambassador added: Cuba has strengths in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and healthcare and is ready to cooperate with Vietnam and Vinh Phuc province in these fields.

Providing more information about Mayabeque province, the Ambassador said that this is a locality with great development potential in Cuba with many strengths in agriculture and commodity export, and that Cuba has now given more autonomy to localities, including Mayabeque province. This will be a favorable opportunity for the two localities to concretize cooperation activities.

The Ambassador pledged to promote the bridging role of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam to further promote cooperation activities between Vietnam and Cuba, including Vinh Phuc province and Mayabeque province.
