Binh Dinh solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the province's liberation.

On the evening of March 30, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh Province) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the province's liberation (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025).

Member of the Politburo , Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, leaders of Hoa Binh, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum provinces..., and a large number of people attended the event.

Awarding the Third Class Independence Medal to the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Dinh province, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that exactly half a century ago, under the direct leadership and direction of the Zone 5 Party Committee and Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, the army and people of Binh Dinh, together with the main mobile forces of the army, achieved glorious feats of arms, liberating Binh Dinh province.

The victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country on the Binh Dinh battlefield is a brilliant milestone in the history of revolutionary struggle, a symbol of the indomitable spirit, iron will and belief in certain victory of the army and people of Binh Dinh province, contributing significantly to the great victory of the Spring of 1975, liberating the South and unifying the country.

Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Dinh province continue to arouse and strongly promote the strength of great national unity, join hands and hearts, with the will and aspiration to rise up, effectively promote all resources, all potential advantages, strive to build Binh Dinh into a province with fast and sustainable development and a leading group in the Central region.

The province needs to continue to thoroughly grasp and resolutely, synchronously, scientifically and effectively implement the policy of arranging administrative units and streamlining the apparatus of the political system.

"Ensure that when the apparatus comes into operation, it must be more effective, better, proactive, constantly close to the grassroots, close to the people, and wholeheartedly serve the Fatherland and the people," the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission requested.

At the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung reviewed the heroic history of 50 years of Binh Dinh liberation.

In March 1975, facing favorable developments in the Central Highlands and the whole country, seizing the opportunity, the Regional Party Committee of Zone 5 and the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee directed the army and people of Binh Dinh to coordinate with the 3rd Sao Vang Division to practice strategic division, step up attacks, simultaneously attack and rise up to completely liberate the districts.

With the motto of relying mainly on one's own strength, "the commune liberates the commune, the district liberates the district, the province liberates the province," after 28 days and nights of continuous attacks and uprisings, continuous fighting and victory, at 8:00 p.m. on March 31, 1975, the victory flag fluttered on the roof of the lobby of the Saigon puppet government's Administrative Building, marking a great moment in the history of the province - Binh Dinh was completely liberated, ending the nearly 21-year long and arduous resistance war against the US to save the country in Binh Dinh homeland.

Binh Dinh's economy, which was almost completely destroyed during the war, has been gradually restored and rebuilt, with clear changes.

In particular, in the last 10 years, the province's socio-economic development has been rapid. The province's economic growth rate has averaged 7% per year; the scale of the economy has been constantly expanding, from a poor province, to now ranking 5th out of 14 localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions and 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

The economic structure has shifted positively; tourism has developed strongly, gradually becoming the province's spearhead economic sector.

Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh) has become a famous destination at home and abroad. Quy Nhon City has been honored twice as an ASEAN Clean City.

After the ceremony, an epic art program took place with the theme "Binh Dinh - Pride and Aspiration."

The program consists of three chapters: Heroic epic, 50 years of Binh Dinh renovation and development, Aspiration for the land of martial arts.
