Binh Thuan promotes tourism to the Indian market

The workshop was attended by tourism industry managers, businesses operating in the tourism and service sectors in Binh Thuan , and major tourism and travel companies from India.

Ms. Nguyen Lan Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism), gave an overview of the potential, advantages, and development orientation of tourism in Binh Thuan . The Deputy Director stated that Binh Thuan will exploit its strengths in natural resources, especially its 192 km long coastline with many beautiful beaches, numerous nature reserves, historical sites, famous landscapes, and distinctive cultural festivals. Binh Thuan has risen to become a safe, friendly, and trustworthy destination for tourists from all over the country and abroad.

At the workshop , delegates focused on introducing and promoting the tourism potential and strengths of Binh Thuan province as well as India; exchanging and promoting new tourism products; and discussing cooperative trade relationships between the parties. Binh Thuan currently has approximately 600 tourist accommodation establishments with a total of nearly 19,000 rooms. In addition, the province also has 557 apartments and 462 villas for rent. Currently, Binh Thuan offers high-end tourism products such as golf, luxury beach resorts, marine sports tourism, and off-road sports tourism.

Binh Thuan is developing a diverse range of tourism products, including: "green" tourism, linking tourism activities with the preservation and promotion of natural resources and environmental protection; developing cultural tourism products associated with festivals, visiting and learning about the lives of local communities and traditional craft villages; promoting the development of ecotourism, adventure tourism, agricultural ecotourism, health and wellness tourism; and combining resort tourism with MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions)...

Let's connect for a future of tourism between Binh Thuan and India.

Regarding tourism infrastructure, Binh Thuan has expressways connecting it to Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, and other locations. In addition, all coastal roads connecting to key tourist destinations in the province have received significant investment in new infrastructure or upgrades, creating favorable conditions for tourists. In 2023, Binh Thuan province welcomed approximately 8.3 million visitors, including about 220,000 international tourists. The number of tourists visiting the province increased by an average of 16.28% per year, with international tourists doubling annually, including the Indian market.

Ms. Nguyen Lan Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized : " India is a major market that Binh Thuan's tourism industry is targeting. In the coming time, we hope to receive more attention and closer cooperation from Indian businesses and travel companies to contribute to the development of tourism in Binh Thuan in particular and Vietnam in general. It is expected that by around 2025, Binh Thuan will have an airport with the capacity to receive approximately 2 million passengers per year. Thus, international tourists can arrive directly via flights to Phan Thiet airport."

Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Representative of the Indian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, stated: "Binh Thuan has a unique and vibrant culture. Binh Thuan and India share cultural similarities. Furthermore, Binh Thuan possesses strengths in its sea, islands, forests, lakes, and waterfalls, allowing for a diverse range of outdoor activities. Indian tourists are very interested in outdoor activities and exploring local culture."

At the same time , delegates proposed several solutions to connect and promote the Indian market, such as: developing activities that integrate Indian and Vietnamese cultures to create a sense of familiarity while still offering something new for tourists to learn about local specialties; developing more types of tourism for families; and focusing on developing Indian cuisine in the locality ...
