Ministry of Public Security will have 'vaccine to treat Viet A virus variant'

On the afternoon of February 1, at the regular Government press conference, Lieutenant General To An Xo - spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security - provided information related to the investigation and handling of violations related to the business of gasoline, electricity and sand and gravel.

Lieutenant General To An Cho stated that with the motto of "handling one case to alert the whole region", the Ministry of Public Security has actively "examined and treated incurable diseases" in the fight against corruption and negativity.

" The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency has cracked down on major cases such as Viet A, the rescue flight, FLC, SCB... and is now moving into the fields of electricity, petroleum, and gravel, " said Mr. Xo.

Referring to the case at Tuan An Group Joint Stock Company, Binh Thuan Electricity Company and related units, the spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security said that this is a typical example of violations related to electricity business.

" In the electricity sector, contractors have colluded to raise the prices of many types of electrical materials and equipment by several tens to several hundred percent. In the case of Tuan An Group Joint Stock Company and Binh Thuan Electricity Company, some materials were raised up to 300% in price ," Lieutenant General To An Xo said, adding that this was one of the reasons for the increase in electricity prices, causing significant damage to consumers.

" In our opinion, this "variant of Viet A virus" is relatively common in some localities. In the near future, the Ministry of Public Security will have a vaccine to treat this virus ," Mr. To An Xo emphasized.

Regarding the case of Xuyen Viet Oil Trading, Transport and Tourism Company Limited, Hai Ha Waterway Transport Company Limited and a number of related units, according to Mr. Xo, are typical examples of violations in the import and export of gasoline, management and use of the gasoline price stabilization fund.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security said that Hai Ha Waterway Transport Company alone caused damage to the state budget of more than 15 billion VND, with a loss of more than 300 billion VND.

As for Xuyen Viet Oil Trading, Transport and Tourism Company Limited, the investigation agency is freezing 17 personal accounts with over 4 billion VND; temporarily suspending transactions, sales and transfers of 54 real estates under the names of individuals and 6 real estates under the name of the company.

" Although Tet is approaching, the investigation agency is still determined to speed up the cases with a spirit of determination, resoluteness, no forbidden areas, no exceptions to thoroughly prevent crimes, recover lost and wasted assets for the State and the People, " Lieutenant General To An Xo added.
