Border guards go to the fields to help people in the highlands plant rice

After heavy rains, the water level in the fields was guaranteed, officers and soldiers of Xuan Truong Border Guard Station (Bao Lac district) coordinated with local authorities and units to help households in the area grow rice.

From early morning, border guards were present with the people to pull up rice seedlings. According to the planting plan of Xuan Truong commune in the past 3 days, more than 30 officers and soldiers went to the fields of 5 households with few workers to help with rice planting.

People and soldiers pulled up rice seedlings and brought them to the fields to prepare for planting.

After the seedlings are pulled out, people will carry them to the fields and divide them equally for easy planting. According to Mr. Dam Van Thang - Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Truong Commune, "people's planting depends a lot on weather conditions and water levels. From now until the end of June, people will basically plant all the rice fields."

Major Ta Duy Ha - Political Commissar of Xuan Truong Border Post - shared: "This summer, the unit chose practical tasks such as: Helping people plant rice, organizing haircuts for people, working with people to erect lamp posts to light up the village... This is also an opportunity to demonstrate the unit's responsibility in participating in building new rural areas and fostering solidarity and close ties between the army and people among the ethnic groups in this border area."

According to the people's planting schedule, dozens of officers and soldiers came to the families with few people to provide support early.

According to Major Ha, the unit will prioritize helping policy households and those in difficult circumstances first, then other households in the village. In addition to helping people with rice cultivation, during natural disasters and storms that damage houses, soldiers of Xuan Truong Border Guard Station are also mobilized to help people.

"Today, the officers and soldiers of Xuan Truong Border Guard Station came to help us plant rice. They worked very enthusiastically. My family's field was finished earlier than expected. If it were just my husband and I, it would have taken 2-3 days," said Dam Van Huan (a resident of Xuan Truong commune).
