This is the first time the museum has displayed artworks in the new space. Of which, the painting category has 150 works by 145 authors, the graphic category has 20 works by 20 authors and the sculpture category has 30 works by 28 authors.
The works recreate the Vietnamese people's tradition of steadfastness in fighting to defend the country through two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, praising the spirit of patriotism, readiness to fight and sacrifice to protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.
In particular, the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the construction and protection of the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland and the image of today's soldiers in building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern army stand out.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, shared at the opening ceremony of the National Fine Arts Exhibition on the theme "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War 2019 - 2024"
Lieutenant Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, commented that the works are diverse in form, from sculpture, graphics to painting, creating a colorful picture that helps the public better understand the image of soldiers in combat, life , study and work through historical periods, while reflecting the solidarity between the army and the people, the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" vividly expressed from the perspective of a visual artist.
Arriving at the museum early, Mr. Le Quang Luan (78 years old, Ha Dong District, Hanoi ) was moved when admiring the works on the theme of soldiers.
"I am very proud because the works of art are like treasures preserving memories of a time of bombs and bullets for future generations to witness and learn about history," Mr. Luan shared.
The national fine arts exhibition on the theme "Armed Forces - Revolutionary War" is part of a series of activities towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
150 paintings by 145 authors displayed at the exhibition impressed viewers.

The sculptures displayed at the exhibition are considered to be creative and innovative in terms of thinking, form and expression.
Sculptor Le Duy Ung was delighted when his work Trong Diem was selected to be displayed at the exhibition. "I hope my work can spread the message to the younger generation to remember the merits of soldiers, real-life heroes who are willing to sacrifice their lives so that people can have peace."
