The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment co-chaired a conference to promote cooperation with the Middle East and Africa.

On September 19, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam co-chaired a working conference with representatives of associations and businesses to promote cooperation with the Middle East - Africa region.

The conference was attended by more than 50 delegates from: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology and leaders of associations and enterprises of Vietnam investing and doing business in the Middle East - Africa region as well as associations and enterprises interested in developing business in markets in these two regions.

Taking place in the context of strategic resolutions on international integration, science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation, and private economic development being strongly implemented, the Conference was organized to connect Vietnamese associations and enterprises with the accompaniment of relevant ministries, branches and agencies, thereby helping to remove difficulties and find solutions to help Vietnamese enterprises exploit cooperation potential, diversify import and export markets and expand investment and business in the Middle East - Africa region.

Representatives of Viettel, PVN, Vingroup, FPT, Xuan Thien, Hoa Binh, MK, European Plastics, AquaOne... corporations exchanged and shared experiences in implementing investment and business activities in some Middle Eastern - African countries in the fields of telecommunications, oil and gas, mining, agriculture, information technology, digital technology, construction... including many success stories as well as lessons learned during the operation process.

Leaders of associations and enterprises in Vietnam's export-oriented sectors discussed difficulties and problems related to law, finance, banking, labor, etc., as well as proposals and recommendations to ministries and branches, especially political support, investment protection guarantees, and the development of support mechanisms for business activities and trade exchanges with countries in the region.

Listening to the opinions shared by associations and enterprises, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam spoke, acknowledged the information and shared enthusiasm of enterprises, especially on difficulties, problems and recommendations to promote economic cooperation with the region in the coming period.

The two Deputy Ministers suggested that businesses consider connecting and forming an ecosystem of Vietnamese businesses to support each other in investing and doing business in some key markets in the Middle East and Africa. The leaders of the two Ministries and representatives of ministries and branches participating in the Conference affirmed that they will continue to accompany and closely coordinate with Vietnamese associations and businesses in promoting trade and investment cooperation with countries in the Middle East - Africa region.
