As a responsible member of ASEAN, Vietnam has recently demonstrated its role and contributed to diplomatic efforts to resolve tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.
On December 14th, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung visited and worked in Thailand at the invitation of Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow. During the meeting that same day, in addition to bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand, the two ministers also discussed the tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.

He also called on all parties to exercise restraint, avoid escalating tensions, and resolve disagreements through peaceful means, including dialogue, in accordance with international law and existing regional agreements and mechanisms.
Minister Le Hoai Trung affirmed that Vietnam is ready to cooperate with ASEAN countries, including Thailand, to make positive contributions to joint efforts to maintain long-term peace and stability in the region.
