Delegates attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Mr. Nguyen Van Tre's house, Gia Khanh hamlet, Hung Khanh Trung A commune, Mo Cay Bac district.

Implementing the program "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide", the Ministry of National Defense supported the construction of 100 "Great Unity" houses for households in difficult circumstances in the province, with a support cost of 60 million VND/house. The total cost is 6 billion VND. Specifically, Giong Trom district has 50 houses, Mo Cay Bac district has 50 houses.

Being a poor household with 4 members, his wife has arthritis and cannot walk, and he has been disabled in one leg since childhood, Mr. Nguyen Van Tre, Gia Khanh Hamlet, Hung Khanh Trung A Commune, Mo Cay Bac District, depends on one main worker to earn a living. This year, over 70 years old, Mr. Tre lives in a dilapidated tree house that was built nearly 20 years ago.

The dream of a small house that could shelter him from the sun and rain, and that he no longer had to worry about storms, seemed too far away for him. Then, he was overwhelmed with joy when he received information that he was eligible for support under the project to support poor and near-poor households to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province in the period of 2024 - 2025. "After many years of living in temporary conditions, I really did not dare to dream of a solid house. I am extremely grateful to the Party, the State, and the locality for supporting me with funds to rebuild my house," Mr. Tre happily shared.

According to Secretary of the District Party Committee Pham Thi Thanh Thao - Head of the Steering Committee for the Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Mo Cay Bac District, although the number of temporary and dilapidated houses that need to be rebuilt or repaired is still small, with the viewpoint of "leaving no one behind", the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the district in the period of 2024 - 2025 hopes and calls on the entire political system, business community, and local people to promote the spirit of "mutual love" to join hands to support and assist households with materials and working days so that the whole district is determined to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area by June 30, 2025.
