Minister Phan Van Giang works with Tay Ninh, ready for Vietnam - Cambodia Defense Exchange

The 2nd Vietnam - Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program was rehearsed by the Ministry of National Defense, ready for events taking place in Tay Ninh on November 13.

On November 12, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense , and a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense visited and worked at Division 5, Military Region 7 (headquartered in Tay Ninh).

Here, the delegation offered incense at President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, inspected the regular construction of the division at Battalion 3, Infantry Regiment 4 and a number of subordinate units in the division.

After listening to the report on the results of the implementation of military tasks in the first 10 months of 2025 and the direction of tasks in the coming time of Division 5, the Minister commended the unit's achievements.

At the same time, the Minister also requested Division 5 to continue to focus on reviewing the 2025 work program and plan, promptly supplement newly arising tasks, and resolutely and effectively organize the implementation of assigned tasks.

In addition, regularly maintain strict combat readiness, supplement and complete combat plans and strategies to suit the actual situation in the area. Synchronously and effectively deploy tasks and solutions to build a strong division Party organization, care for and improve the material and spiritual life of soldiers.

In the afternoon of the same day, Minister Phan Van Giang also worked with the Standing Committee of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, listened to a report on the province's economic development, national security and defense situation in recent times and work orientation in the coming time.

Protect the Fatherland early and from afar

Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet - Secretary of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee - said that the province always thoroughly grasps and implements the viewpoint of "protecting the Fatherland early and from afar" and the motto "helping friends is helping ourselves", while always paying attention to diplomatic work, connecting friendship and signing many cooperation agreements with three Cambodian provinces bordering Tay Ninh, namely Svay Rieng, Prey Veng and Tboung Khmum.

Minister Phan Van Giang requested the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the directives and resolutions of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on the task of protecting the Fatherland.

At the same time, focus on developing key economic sectors, creating a strong transformation in the agricultural sector, creating a solid foundation for economic development, to build strong economic potential.

Prioritize investment in transport infrastructure, develop border economic zones to attract investment, exploit the potential and advantages of the province, improve people's lives, especially in ethnic and religious areas, remote and isolated areas...

At the working session, the Minister witnessed the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement for 2026-2030 between Viettel Group and Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee.

At the same time, the Minister also, on behalf of the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense, donated 30 billion VND to Tay Ninh province to build a people's bridge.

On the same day, the working delegation led by two Deputy Ministers of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, also directed the general rehearsal of the 2nd Vietnam - Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange program.

The program will take place on November 13 and 14 in Tay Ninh and Svay Rieng provinces (Cambodia).

The rehearsal program aims to carefully prepare for events held in Tay Ninh such as the ceremony to welcome the Cambodian Minister of Defense at Moc Bai international border gate, salute and paint the sovereignty milestone, plant friendship trees, attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the boarding school at Ben Cau Primary School, serve the Defense Ministers of the two countries to visit the joint military medical exercise in Ben Cau commune, Tay Ninh province, the ceremony to establish the twinning of residential areas on both sides of the border; talks to sign cooperation documents...
