Command of Military Region 9 visited and wished Chol Chnam Thmay festival to Tri Ton district

- On the morning of April 9, a working delegation from the Military Region 9 Command, led by Colonel Nguyen Truong Giang, Head of the Civil Affairs Department, Political Department of Military Region 9, visited and presented gifts to Soai So Tom Nop Pagoda (Nui To Commune) on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year.

Also attending were Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of An Giang Provincial Military Command; Chairman of Tri Ton District People's Committee Nguyen Van Be Tam.

On behalf of the Military Region 9 Command, Colonel Nguyen Truong Giang visited and sent greetings to monks, families of policy beneficiaries and Khmer ethnic minorities to celebrate the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year 2025 happily and happily. Colonel Nguyen Truong Giang also informed about the socio-economic development situation, outstanding results that the armed forces of Military Region 9 and the armed forces of An Giang province have achieved in performing military and defense tasks in the first months of 2025. Notably, the implementation of the model "Tet military - people celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay". Thereby, contributing to building new rural areas, improving the lives of Khmer ethnic minorities and strengthening the solidarity and close relationship between the military and the people.

In the coming time, Colonel Nguyen Truong Giang hopes that the monks, nuns, temple management board and Buddhists will continue to promote the good traditions; the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance, self-improvement, the will to rise up in life; determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges, and strive to successfully achieve the goals of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the locality.

On this occasion, Tri Ton District People's Committee also presented gifts to typical policy families and prestigious people among Khmer ethnic minorities in Nui To commune.
