Ms. Le Thuy My Chau spoke at the festival: "Looking back on the 50-year journey, we are proud to see that the city's preschool education sector has gone through memorable milestones of development. Right after the liberation day, from 1975, preschool education began to be built from small-scale childcare facilities, mainly serving the children of officials and employees in the context of the country's many difficulties. The first preschools such as 19/5 Kindergarten and City Kindergarten were established, marking the beginning of a formal preschool education system. In the 1980s, along with the country's renovation, preschool education was given more attention with the expansion of public educational institutions and the participation of non-public institutions, meeting the growing needs of society."
According to Ms. Le Thuy My Chau, by the 1990s, the city had made important strides in standardizing the preschool education program, building a team of professional teachers and upgrading facilities. The number of preschool education facilities increased significantly, from a few hundred to thousands, covering all districts.
"This is also the period when child care and nurturing policies are improved, creating a foundation for children's comprehensive development. Entering the 21st century, the city's preschool education welcomes new opportunities in the context of international integration. Advanced educational programs are applied, national standard preschools are established one after another, and the teaching staff is trained in depth in modern, child-centered educational methods. From 2010 to now, the city's preschool education continues to have breakthroughs and remarkable development...", Ms. Le Thuy My Chau commented.
