Ho Chi Minh City ranked first in the 2024 National Youth Swimming Championship.
This year’s National Youth Swimming Championship has 31 units, provinces, and sectors with 257 athletes competing in 127 events. In addition to the Ho Chi Minh City delegation, there are many units with leading swimming movements in the country such as the National Defense Sports Center 4, National Defense Sports Center 5, teams from Da Nang, Long An , Hanoi, An Giang, etc.
After 7 days of exciting and fierce competition, the Ho Chi Minh City swimming team excellently achieved first place overall with 44 gold medals, 29 silver medals, and 33 bronze medals. Ho Chi Minh City Swimming has just introduced a group of promising young athletes.
These are also the faces that will be on the Ho Chi Minh City swimming team aiming to compete in the upcoming 2024 national championship.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City swimming team also impressed with the performance of athlete Tran Duy Khoi, a former national swimmer, who, although 28 years old, still excellently brought home a gold medal in the 100m backstroke and a silver medal in the 200m backstroke in the over-18 category.
This achievement is a very impressive signal, ending a 6-year wait to return to the top position in the national youth tournaments, creating great motivation for the Ho Chi Minh City swimming team before the 2024 national swimming championship to take place in Da Nang City in October.
