According to Variety , Marvel's Thunderbolts has been screened to the press and received positive feedback from its first audiences. The film is considered a bold breakthrough in trauma, healing and redemption while the performance of female lead Florence Pugh received many compliments from critics.
Matt Neglia (editor-in-chief of Next Best Picture ) rated Thunderbolts as one of Marvel's darkest works to date, and it was well suited to Florence Pugh, who shouldered much of the dramatic weight of the film. Meanwhile, Lewis Pullman gave a complex performance as a character struggling with himself. He rated this as not the most epic, funniest or most powerful Marvel film, but the rough edges and imperfections of the work were suitable for this "misfit" team.
Screenwriter Emily Murray called Thunderbolts one of the best Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films in a long time, praising Florence Pugh for her great performance. "There's a lot of spark, charisma, and it tells a really moving story that you can relate to," she shared. Meanwhile, critic Brandon Norwood commented: "It's shocking how good Thunderbolts is. The focus on character building and realistic action makes this feel like the old Marvel that's been with us for over a decade."
"Black Widow" Florence Pugh is considered the "soul" of the film.

Thunderbolts is set after Avengers: Endgame (2019), when the Avengers have disbanded and humanity is no longer protected from threats both within and outside the Earth. This is when CIA Director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) appears and makes an offer for a "new trustworthy superhero".
Valentina gathers the notorious assassins: Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Black Widow/Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), US Agent/John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Ghost/Ava Starr (Hannah John-Kamen), Red Guardian/Alexei Shostakov (David Harbour) and Taskmaster/Antonia Dreykov (Olga Kurylenko). Those who are used to taking lives and dark missions must now stand up to protect humanity and become heroes.
The film follows a group of anti-heroes who are caught in a deadly trap and forced to work together on a dangerous mission.

The Avengers serves as the conclusion to Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and paves the way for Avengers: Doomsday (2026). The film, directed by Jake Schreier, is expected to make a splash after Captain America: Brave New World failed to achieve commercial and critical success.
In Vietnam, Thunderbolts will compete with Lat mat 8: Vong tay nang (directed by Ly Hai) and Detective Kien: Ky an khong dau (directed by Victor Vu) at the box office when it is released on the occasion of April 30 - May 1. With the influence of the Marvel superhero brand, a grand investment with a budget estimated to range from 150 to 200 million USD and a quality cast, Thunderbolts is considered a "formidable" name in the box office revenue race in Vietnam as well as internationally next week.
