VietNamNetVietNamNet26/06/2023

Earlier, on the afternoon of June 24th, the Police Station of Ward 1, Bao Loc City, received the aforementioned sum of money from Mr. Do Thanh Nhon (residing in Ward 1, Bao Loc City), who handed it over and requested the police force to find the owner of the money in order to return it.

Mr. Do Thanh Nhon handed over 37 million VND that he found at an ATM to the police.

According to Mr. Nhon's statement, as soon as he pressed the button to deposit cash into his account, he heard the ATM counting and dispensing the money into the tray. Since it wasn't his money, Mr. Nhon took it to the police station to hand it over.

Mr. Nhon stated that before he entered the ATM to complete his transaction, a young woman, approximately 25-30 years old, walked out of the ATM. As soon as Mr. Nhon pressed the button to deposit money, 37 million VND was dispensed from the ATM, while the money he intended to deposit was still in his hand.

Police officers arrived at the bank to verify the information.

According to a representative of the Military Bank branch in Bao Loc City, the bank's ATMs offer a service to deposit cash directly into accounts without needing to go to the bank counter. When depositing money, customers select the "no card" transaction option and then follow the instructions on the ATM screen.

Since the service was launched, this is the first time a customer has received money coming out of an ATM after depositing cash. According to a representative from MBBank , the bank has not yet received any reports of customers depositing cash at faulty ATMs.
