Ca Mau is determined to join the whole country in carrying out a new revolution, breaking through, accelerating development, and bringing the country steadily into a new era.

In the heroic atmosphere of the historic April days; together with the excitement and pride of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people, today, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province solemnly organized the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

First of all, on behalf of the provincial leaders, I would like to respectfully send to the leaders and former leaders of the Party and State; veteran revolutionaries, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People's Armed Forces; leaders of provincial and municipal Party Committees; leaders and former leaders of Ca Mau province through the periods; officers and soldiers of the armed forces; war invalids and sick soldiers; families of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the country, distinguished delegates, and all comrades attending the meeting my respectful greetings and best wishes.

Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai spoke at the meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, held on the morning of April 26.

The great victory of the Spring of 1975 is an immortal heroic epic, the greatest feat in the glorious history of building and defending the country of our people under the wise and talented leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh. That victory ended more than 100 years of colonialism and imperialism. This is a vivid demonstration of the patriotism, the great courage and intelligence of the Vietnamese people, of the strength of great national unity with the spirit of "determination to die for the Fatherland, determination to live". The great victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country has left us many valuable lessons, with everlasting historical values, with the truth: nothing is more precious than independence, freedom; self-reliance, self-strengthening; promoting the strength of great national unity; conducting a people's war, all-people, all-round, with unique and creative military art; Combine national strength with the strength of the times, seek the sympathy, support and help of international friends.

In this sacred, emotional and proud moment, we respectfully remember and pay tribute to the great President Ho Chi Minh , the genius leader, the Hero of National Liberation, who has made our country and people glorious. We would like to express our deep gratitude to the previous generations of revolutionaries, and to the countless soldiers, compatriots and comrades who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. We will forever remember and be grateful for the great sacrifices and losses of the heroic Vietnamese Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, war invalids, martyrs, families with meritorious services to the country... those who have brought peace, independence, freedom and unity to the Fatherland today.

Although it is a remote, difficult and deprived land, the Party Committee, army and people of Ca Mau have always followed the Party with all their heart. During the years of resistance, Ca Mau, together with the people of the South and the people of the whole country, fought bravely and achieved many resounding victories. Ca Mau has become a solid base of the Southern Revolution, and a place where many high-ranking leaders of the Party and the State have stood and operated. Overcoming countless difficulties and losses, the people of Ca Mau have contributed a lot of human and material resources to serve the revolution: more than 17,000 martyrs have sacrificed; more than 16,000 wounded soldiers have left a part of their blood and bones on the battlefield; more than 2,500 heroic Vietnamese mothers have said goodbye to their loved ones; tens of thousands of families have rendered great service to the country. All of these sacrifices, losses and great contributions are for a common ideal and aspiration: "Fight to drive out the Americans, fight to overthrow the puppet regime", liberate the South and unify the country.

With the revolutionary offensive spirit, under the leadership of the Party Committee; the army and people in the province have won many glorious victories, established many glorious feats. With the motto "Province liberates the province, district liberates district, commune liberates commune", in the victorious spirit throughout the Southern battlefield, the army and people in the province have continuously expanded the liberated areas, created a continuous situation between localities in the province, gradually surrounded and isolated the enemy in urban areas, sub-regions, sub-regions... as a premise to develop a strong revolutionary force, moving towards self-reliance to liberate the province.

At 6:00 a.m. on May 1, 1975, our troops from all directions advanced straight into the inner city of Ca Mau, forcing the enemy to lay down their arms and surrender unconditionally. By 10:00 a.m. on May 1, 1975, Ca Mau province was completely liberated. It was a glorious victory of great historical significance for the Party Committee, army and people of Ca Mau, ending the 21-year long resistance war against the US to save the country with many sacrifices and losses. That victory contributed significantly to the Great Spring Victory of the entire nation, creating a miracle for the Vietnamese people in the 20th century.

After independence and reunification, despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges, our country has achieved many great and historic achievements: our country has become a developing country, surpassing the low-middle income level; the country's position and strength are increasing; its international role, status and prestige are increasingly high; the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improving; security and order are ensured, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland are firmly protected. That is also a solid premise for our country and our people to advance quickly, strongly and firmly into the new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

In Ca Mau, over the past 50 years, since the country's reunification, the Party Committee and people of the province have joined hands with the whole country to successfully carry out the task of building and defending the Fatherland. From a poor province, heavily devastated by war, but with the spirit of solidarity, unity, and consensus, the Party Committee, government and people of Ca Mau province have overcome all difficulties and hardships, constantly striving, determined to build the homeland richer and more beautiful. After many years of striving, up to now, Ca Mau has gradually narrowed the gap with other localities, gradually rising to keep up with the general development of the whole country. The province's economy has continuously developed over the years, the average income per capita has been among the top in the region (nearly 73 million VND), the poverty rate is below 1%, the economic - social infrastructure is increasingly spacious and modern, 100% of commune centers can be reached by car, many key traffic routes are connected, breaking the monopoly; Airports and seaports are being invested in; social security is increasingly ensured; people's material and spiritual lives are increasingly improved.

The Party Committee and People of Ca Mau have determined that although the tasks ahead are still very heavy, with the revolutionary offensive spirit of the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign "Faster, faster, bolder, bolder", in the coming time, Ca Mau is determined to join the whole country in carrying out a new revolution, breaking through, accelerating development, bringing the country steadily into a new era. To successfully carry out this Revolution, the entire Party Committee, government, cadres, party members and people of the province need to promote revolutionary heroism, the tradition of solidarity, strive, seriously, urgently, and resolutely carry out well the political goals and tasks, especially the growth target of 8% or more; make breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, creativity, and digital transformation; successfully complete the arrangement of administrative units at the provincial, district and commune levels to ensure streamlining, efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency; complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses; Successfully organize Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress... Each cadre and Party member, especially the leader, must consider it as their historical mission, a sacred command of the Fatherland, must be exemplary in their work; fulfill their exemplary responsibilities, regularly self-reflect, self-correct and strive to excellently complete all assigned tasks, actively contribute with the entire Party and the entire people to realize the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country according to the Party's policies and the wishes of beloved Uncle Ho.

With the heroic and indomitable tradition and strong desire for development, the Party Committee, government and people of Ca Mau province vow to continue to write glorious pages of history in the new era, making people's lives increasingly prosperous and happy, worthy of the trust and love of the people and the great sacrifices of previous generations.
