The whole country for Lao Cai

Việt NamViệt Nam01/10/2024

The landslides were like painful cuts into the mountain; hundreds of faults, no trace of the road; many villages were isolated, no roads, no electricity, no communication; chaos and destruction were what Lao Cai had to endure in the circulation of storm No. 3 (photo below).

Mr. Vanh A Senh, Trung Ho village, Trung Leng Ho commune, Bat Xat district is still haunted: "Boom, black soil flew over my head. At that time, I thought I would not be able to survive."

Humans seem so small before the wrath of nature, but humans are also extremely strong, because no one is alone, no one is left behind. Roads are opened as in wartime, even though we have to cross mountains and forests to reach and rescue our compatriots who are being separated by natural disasters.

People refused to submit to Mother Nature, roads were opened as in wartime, even though they had to cross mountains and forests to reach and rescue compatriots who were isolated by natural disasters.

Mr. Phan Lao Si, Ngai Tro village, A Mu Sung commune, Bat Xat district shared: “3 days after being isolated, the first person found us. The villagers were very happy, and I was very happy too, so someone saved us.”

From the heart of the flood, news from the press and mainstream media responded to the anguish and anticipation of people across the country about the current situation in the disaster-stricken areas. And then, as quickly as possible, unforgettable images appeared.

On the road to Bat Xat, the road down to Bao Yen, the road up to Bac Ha, Si Ma Cai… convoys of vehicles patiently moved forward, with all the license plates of provinces and cities. The vehicles not only carried food, provisions, and necessities, but also carried the kindness and love of the people of the whole country.

Mr. Hoang Manh Cuong, Vinh city, Nghe An province shared: "The group has fully prepared the most essential and practical necessities and supplies to support the people and hopes that in the shortest time, the people will overcome the difficulties affected by the recent storm to soon stabilize their lives."

Mr. Truong Quang Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City said: "The zero-dong buses, connecting with large buses, help reach the deepest areas, the areas where people need the most. That is the spirit of cooperation, the national spirit showing solidarity from other places to the locality, to be ready to support both sides to complete the goal of helping our people have the spirit and strength so that we can rebuild together."

The most painful and difficult days will soon be over, the villages will be rebuilt, and peace will return. But the people of Lao Cai will never forget the deep gratitude that the whole country has shown them in times of trouble.
