At the Festival “Vietnam’s Hearts - 50 Years of Beating Together”, amidst the brilliant space of flags and flowers with red flags with yellow stars fluttering in the hands of Vietnamese people in Japan, the heroic and majestic singing of the National Anthem resounded in the heart of Japan like a call from the homeland, like the common beat of thousands of hearts turning towards the motherland.

On the afternoon of May 4, 2025, at Hanazono Central Park (Higashi Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan), the Festival "Vietnam's Heart - 50 Years of Beating Together" officially ended after two days. This is an event held by Vietnamese associations and communities in the Kansai region on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The event was sponsored by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka and the Higashi Osaka City Government. The closing art program of the Festival had the participation of many artists from Vietnam and Japan. On the Vietnamese side, there were singers Tung Duong, Isaac, and Duyen Quynh.

Singer Tung Duong opened the show with the National Anthem, making the whole space quiet in solemnity and pride. Thousands of spectators - from the Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha - to overseas Vietnamese, international students, and workers stood up, hands placed on their left chests, facing the stage where the male singer was standing.

Singer Tung Duong shared: “Singing the national anthem in Japan was a special moment, an indescribable feeling. I am happy to sing among the red flags with yellow stars and Vietnamese people far from home but always looking towards the Fatherland.”

After the National Anthem, Tung Duong continued to lead the audience's emotions with "The Road We Take", "Rebirth", "Around Vietnam", "Above the Floor", "Aspirations of Youth". Each song Tung Duong sang was a wave of emotion, making the audience not only sing along but also cry, bursting with pride and nostalgia for their homeland.

The children living far away from home suddenly felt like they were back home, standing in the heart of their motherland through the music , through the voice filled with love for the Fatherland of Tung Duong. Especially, with the song "Aspiration of Youth", the atmosphere at Hanazono Park really exploded. Each verse was sung by thousands of people with the red flag raised high in their hands, creating a beautiful image called Vietnam.

Not following the original script, Tung Duong unexpectedly invited MC Phuc Anh to sing along, followed by the impromptu appearance of singers Duyen Quynh and Isaac. The artists and thousands of Vietnamese audiences in Japan created a touching and intense impromptu moment - a harmony about love for the country, about aspirational youth, sung from the hearts of Vietnamese children in a foreign land.

Here, I clearly felt the spirit of solidarity, love and admiration for the strength of our overseas compatriots.”

Singer Isaac also expressed that this was one of the most meaningful performance moments in his career: “When the flags were raised, emotions exploded. I found the Vietnamese spirit in that moment so beautiful.”

Most importantly, we want to convey the message: No matter where they are, Vietnamese hearts always turn to their roots. The festival is not only a cultural festival but also a bridge connecting Vietnamese souls, evoking national pride and introducing to international friends a dynamic Vietnam rich in cultural traditions.

Present at the Festival “Vietnam’s Heart - 50 Years of Beating Together”, Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang - Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam said that during the days of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the reunification of the country and towards the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, he felt extremely proud and excited to be able to turn towards his Fatherland and his compatriots in a place far away from Vietnam and feel like he was in his own country.
