
Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen has just signed a document to send to the Department of Health of provinces and cities in the Central region; Units under and directly under the Ministry of Health in the Central region on proactively deploying medical work to respond to storm No. 13 (storm Kalmaegi).
The dispatch of the Ministry of Health stated that, implementing the Prime Minister's dispatch No. 208/CD-TTg dated November 4, 2025 on proactive prevention, avoidance and response to storm No. 13; the Ministry of Health requested the Department of Health of provinces and cities in the Central region, units under and directly under the Ministry in the Central region to urgently implement a number of contents, specifically:
Strictly implement the directives of the Prime Minister , the National Civil Defense Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health in responding to storms and post-storm floods, ensuring people's safety.
Closely monitor the development of storms, rain and flood situations; proactively review plans and solutions for storm and flood prevention and response and deploy storm and flood prevention and response work in accordance with natural disaster developments and practical requirements of the locality, in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction of "being proactive early and from afar", "worrying about the unprofitable, happy", with the most determined spirit, anticipating the worst scenario, deploying prevention, avoidance and response measures at the highest level to absolutely ensure the safety of people's lives, limit damage to property of the People and the State, not to be passive or surprised in any situation.
At the same time, organize professional and emergency staff on duty 24/7, ready to receive, provide emergency aid and treatment for victims caused by rain and floods; ensure adequate supply of essential medicines for people, supplement reserves of medicines, chemicals, materials, and backup power supply equipment to be ready for use in case of emergency according to the 4-on-the-spot motto.
Deploy plans to protect medical facilities in areas at risk of being affected by floods; proactively evacuate and protect people and property in low-lying areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, landslides.
Closely monitor and respond to epidemics during storms, floods, and landslides; promptly detect and handle epidemic situations; organize environmental sanitation, ensure clean water and food safety during and after storms and floods; absolutely prevent epidemics from breaking out after floods. Arrange and stabilize medical facilities, ensure medical examination and treatment for people after floods.
Report on the damage situation, needs, local guarantee capacity and propose support when exceeding capacity, send to the Ministry of Health (through the Department of Planning and Finance, Department of Disease Prevention, Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management) for synthesis, report to competent authorities for consideration and resolution.
Today, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital organized a fundraising event to support our compatriots and colleagues in the central region who suffered heavy losses after the historic floods.

Dr. Duong Duc Hung - Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital shared: The natural disaster has passed but the consequences are very serious: the risk of epidemics, lack of clean water, and difficult medical examination and treatment conditions. He expressed his deep gratitude to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, the Board of Directors, the Trade Union and all colleagues for sending meaningful gifts: “This is a very strong source of spiritual encouragement for the medical staff of the three units.
