He assessed that the August Revolution ended 80 years of French colonial rule, abolished the feudal regime and reaffirmed the independence of the Vietnamese people. This was a fatal blow to colonialism, opening the way for the national liberation movement around the world to gain national independence. This was a skillful combination of political struggle and armed struggle, complementing each other and being flexibly applied in each situation.

According to journalist Tuero, the August Revolution is a testament to the correct strategy and leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Viet Minh Front. Thanks to the wise and skillful leadership, making necessary decisions at the right time, combined with careful political and military preparation to ensure national unity, on the basis of the worker-peasant alliance, it contributed to the victory of the Vietnamese people, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945.

Professor Vladimir Kolotov, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Institute, Russian Federation, commented: The August Revolution became a model revolution for oppressed colonies to find a way to liberate their people from foreign domination. In his research, the Professor said that President Ho Chi Minh studied different successful and failed revolutions in the world to gain experience, and then creatively applied the political theory of international communism to the actual conditions in Vietnam.

The success of the August Revolution is also the subject of research by French experts and historians. Historian Alain Ruscio has spent more than 30 years researching Vietnamese history and has written at least 15 works on Vietnamese history, resistance wars, and the August Revolution of 1945 in Vietnam. He wrote: “Vietnam’s victory in 1945 was not only a surprising event, but also a logical inevitability in the history of the Vietnamese people’s struggle movement. The victory of the August Revolution of 1945 had a great influence on the independence movement of colonial countries in the world at that time, especially those in Africa.”
