Although suffering from a serious illness, for many years, Mr. Nguyen Phi Bon (born in 1965, in Tan Dinh village, Luu Vinh Son commune) has always been a pioneer and exemplary participant in building the new rural area. In particular, in early 2024, responding to the call of the village cadre union, Mr. Bon did not hesitate to take the lead in donating land to widen the village road.

In order to implement the criteria for building a model new-style rural residential area, in February 2024, Tan Dinh village launched a campaign to widen a 320m long road from 3m to 5m wide. As soon as the village officials discussed, Mr. Bon took the lead, boldly demolishing 30m of fence, demolishing the solid house gate and donating 45m2 of land to widen the road.

Mr. Tran Danh Ngu - Head of Tan Dinh village shared: “Despite his difficult circumstances, when he himself was sick, one of his children also died of a serious illness and now another child is being treated for the disease, Mr. Bon's family has always been exemplary, taking the lead in the activities and movements of the village. Not only willing to donate land, Mr. Bon also participated in building the new rural area, the family also rebuilt the dismantled works without hesitation and together with the inter-family group built a covered drainage ditch. Mr. Bon's pioneering spirit and responsibility have spread to the people in the village, helping the site clearance work to be more favorable."

In just 1 month, the site clearance work for the 320m long village road was completed. More than 20 households donated 1,300m2 of land, demolished 700m of fence, 4 solid gates, and 2 auxiliary works. The 5m wide road was completed clean and airy. Thanks to that, by the end of 2024, Tan Dinh village completed the criteria and was recognized as a model new rural residential area.
Mr. Bon confided: “The road expansion not only beautifies the village roads and alleys, but my family also benefits from traveling on the spacious road, so I am always ready. Also from donating land to open the road, the spirit of solidarity and contribution to the homeland of the villagers has multiplied, I am very happy”.
Also willing to sacrifice personal interests for the common development of the community, Mr. Bui Van Luu (born in 1973, Truong An village, Hong Loc commune) did not hesitate to donate land to expand the village road.
In October 2024, Mr. Luu donated 45m2 of land, relocated his 42m2 solid house (built only 6 years ago), demolished the house gate and 30m of surrounding wall to widen the village road. Thanks to that, the road was widened from 2.8m to 6m, convenient for travel and economic development in the village. In addition, his family actively participated in the construction of village welfare works such as: building green fences, pouring roadside...

Looking at the image of an enthusiastic, cheerful man who is always ready to help the common good, few people know that behind him lies a heavy burden. His family's economy depends on farming, in addition to 3 children, he and his wife are taking care of a sister who is a social protection subject.
Ms. Bui Thi Thu - Head of Truong An village said: "The pioneering spirit of Mr. Luu's family has spread strongly in the community, contributing to raising awareness and consensus in new rural construction activities. He is always a pioneer in everything, from small actions such as cleaning the village roads to big contributions such as donating land to build roads. Thanks to people like Mr. Luu, Truong An village has the spacious appearance it has today."

Sharing about his motivation to participate in the new rural construction movement, Mr. Luu said: "When the commune launched the new rural construction movement, my family and I realized that this is a very meaningful program, bringing benefits to the community. Therefore, my family is willing to contribute to building our homeland to develop more and more."
The contributions of Mr. Luu's family have contributed significantly to the success of the new rural construction movement in Truong An. By December 2024, Truong An village was recognized as a model new rural area, marking the common efforts of the people and the pioneering spirit of Mr. Luu's family in particular.

With great contributions to the new rural construction movement, Mr. Nguyen Phi Bon's family and Mr. Bui Van Luu's family were honored to be two of three households in Thach Ha district to receive a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in the emulation movement "The whole province joins hands to build Ha Tinh province to meet new rural standards" in 2024.
Ha Tinh has 42 typical collectives, individuals and households in building new rural areas in 2024 receiving certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, of which Thach Ha has 2 individuals and 3 households receiving certificates of merit.
