73,924 billion VND needed to upgrade 7 sections of Ho Chi Minh road

Of which, the Pac Bo - Cao Bang section, 45km long, needs an investment of about 3,755 billion VND; the Phu Tho - Co Tiet section, 18.5km long, needs to be upgraded and expanded to expressway standards with a total investment of about more than 6,000 billion VND; the Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section, 84km long, needs to be upgraded and expanded to expressway standards with a total investment of about 19,500 billion VND.

The Duc Hoa - My An section, 69km long, needs to be upgraded and expanded to expressway standards with a total investment of about more than VND 29,000 billion; the Vinh Phong - An Xuyen section (formerly Vinh Thuan - Ca Mau section), 33km long, needs to be upgraded and expanded with a total investment of about VND 3,000 billion; the Ca Mau - Nam Can section, 47.5km long, needs to be upgraded and expanded with a total investment of about more than VND 7,100 billion; the Nam Can - Dat Mui section, 59km long, needs to be upgraded and expanded with a total investment of about VND 5,569 billion.

The Ministry of Construction said that capital arrangements for these 7 sections have been planned in the medium-term public investment plan for 2026 - 2030.

Previously, some sections of the Ho Chi Minh route that overlap the North-South Expressway in the West and other expressways have been started and are under thorough construction. Specifically, the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section, 129km long, with a total investment of nearly VND 25,900 billion, started construction in April 2025, and is expected to be basically completed in 2026. The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh section, nearly 59km long, with a total investment of more than VND 18,500 billion, started construction in 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2027; the My An - Cao Lanh section, 27km long, with a total investment of VND 6,100 billion, started construction in July 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2028; the Cao Lanh - Rach Soi expressway started construction in May 2024 and is expected to be completed in September 2025...
