Regarding this information, the presiding judge asked Ms. Lan if the building she referred to was the Capital Palace at 29 Lieu Giai Street, Hanoi. Ms. Lan confirmed that it was. After Ms. Lan's confirmation, the presiding judge stated that, according to information provided by Ms. Lan's daughter to the court, someone had offered to buy the building for $360 million USD, not $1 billion USD as Ms. Lan had stated.

The Capital Place building was originally part of the Vinhomes Metropolis project, but was later transferred to Twin-Peaks JSC, a legal entity owned by the Singaporean real estate group Capitaland. Ms. Truong My Lan stated that the building was originally purchased for $700 million, and with additional costs for completing the paperwork, she estimates its value at $1 billion.
