Basis for granting practice license for medical technician title

Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Health responded as follows:

On January 9, 2025, the Minister of Health issued Circular No. 02/2025/TT-BYT stipulating codes and standards for professional titles of nursing, midwifery, and medical technicians. Clause 2, Article 13 stipulates that the training standards for the title of Grade III Medical Technician are to have a university degree in medical technology, a university degree in dental prosthetics, a university degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, or biotechnology or higher. The Circular is the legal basis for recruiting, using, and managing medical technical staff.

Regarding practice licenses, it is implemented in accordance with the provisions of the law on granting practice licenses according to the provisions of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP dated December 30, 2024 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment.
