According to information from the Vietnam Register, this unit has received many complaints from people and registration facilities about incoming calls (from phone numbers such as: 098236xxx, 0916712xxx, 0911312xxx, 0916600xxx...) claiming to be from the Vietnam Road Administration, Vietnam Register.
These subjects claim to be employees of the Department of Roads or the Department of Registration, inviting people and businesses to buy registration management books or asking them to install applications with the logo of the Vietnam Register.
Inspection units also receive calls from scammers.
Some calls also requested to change the inspection stamp according to new regulations, all of which were incorrect information and had no legal basis.
In response to this situation, the Vietnam Register has confirmed that there is no such request as reported. The Register affirms that all calls with the above content are impersonations and scams. There is no request for people, businesses or registration units to buy books, change inspection stamps or install any applications. This is a trick aimed at taking advantage of people who lack information or are not vigilant.
The Vietnam Register recommends that people, businesses and inspection units need to be more vigilant against these fraudulent calls. At the same time, the Department also recommends that inspection units propagate and notify all employees and vehicle owners about this situation to avoid being exploited.
