Despite warning signs "Weak bridge" and "No traffic or pedestrians allowed", many people still deliberately pull down the barrier to walk across the bridge to the other side of the river. In particular, students from schools near Yen Bai bridge often flip over the barrier with the excuse of being late for school and wanting to take a shortcut for convenience.

Despite the ban and warning signs, people still arbitrarily crawl through the barrier to walk across Yen Bai bridge.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phu (Hong Tien residential group, Yen Bai ward) said that many people saw people opening the metal barrier to cross so they followed suit. Even though they knew that crossing Yen Bai bridge was prohibited, people still went because it was close and convenient.

This is a reckless and extremely dangerous act. To avoid unfortunate accidents, local authorities and functional agencies need to take more effective measures to prevent people from risking their lives crossing the bridge.

Many people often flip over the barriers to cross Yen Bai bridge.
During the bridge closure, authorities have guided vehicles and people traveling between Yen Bai ward and Au Lau ward to go through the following bridges: Tuan Quan, Bach Lam, Gioi Phien or Van Phu.
