Beware of people impersonating tax officials who claim to have tax refunds.

Phu Yen Tax Department has just issued a warning to taxpayers to be vigilant against the tricks of subjects impersonating tax officials calling to instruct taxpayers to install fake software and applications to receive personal income tax refunds and COVID-19 support money.

 

According to Phu Yen Tax Department, recently, the unit has received many complaints from taxpayers about receiving calls claiming to be tax officers instructing them to go to the tax office to receive personal income tax refunds and COVID-19 support money. The phone numbers provided by people are: 0982 xx7285; 0916xx8577; 0373xx8938.

 

Phu Yen Tax Department recommends that people should be extremely careful and vigilant when receiving phone calls claiming to be tax officers, asking for information. When receiving messages or calls that are annoying or have signs of fraud, they should save the phone number, record the call and provide evidence to the authorities to handle the violations of the subjects according to the provisions of the law.

 

The Tax Department recommends that taxpayers limit sharing their personal information with strangers, and only provide personal information when the information has been verified to be accurate.
