Shocking video shows a driver losing control and crashing into fans gathered in front of a stadium on the outskirts of Barcelona.
According to Spanish media, the incident, which injured 15 people, is currently under investigation. Catalan police suspect that this was not a deliberate act but may have been caused by the driver losing control. Marca revealed that the driver was a woman and has been arrested.
Fortunately, the injuries were not serious. Seven ambulances were called to treat the injured, some of whom were taken to hospital. Videos showed many fans trapped, some crying and with blood on their faces.
The footage also shows the white car stopping in the middle of a crowd, as people throw drinks at it. The car then drives straight into the crowd, causing chaos and leaving hundreds of people at the scene panicked and scared.
Armed police quickly arrived and approached the car after it hit the fans.
Returning to the match at RCDE Stadium in the early morning of May 16, Barcelona defeated Espanyol 2-0 to officially win La Liga 2 rounds early when they were 7 points ahead of Real Madrid.
